What this site collects, why, and how to have it removed.

Privacy
This policy explains what renewsite.com does with your data. It describes the site as it works today, not as it might work later.

Who we are

What we collect, and why
The wizard on this site
The wizard asks you a short set of questions about your website and asks for your email address so we can reply.
Two things happen when you submit it:
- Your answers are saved in this website’s own database, on the server that runs renewsite.com.
- A notification email is sent to the site owner so we know a submission came in.
That is all. There is no account to create, and we do not ask for a phone number or anything about your finances.
The wizard itself does not fetch or scan your site. When we review a site by hand, a person looks at what is publicly visible, the way any visitor would. We do not log in, we do not access anything private, and we do not change anything on your site.
Legal basis (GDPR). Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
The free check
The free check asks for two things: your website address and an email address to send the results to. Unlike the wizard, this one does automatically look at the site you name, and it is worth being precise about what that means.
When you submit it, three requests are made to the address you gave:
- Google PageSpeed Insights measures the page. This means Google fetches your page from its own servers, and the address you submitted is sent to Google as part of that request. Google’s handling of it is covered by Google’s privacy policy, not ours.
- We fetch your homepage once — the same public page any visitor gets — to work out which theme and page builder produced it.
- We read your sitemap, if you publish one, to count roughly how many pages the site has.
All three are ordinary public requests. Nothing is installed, no login is attempted, nothing on your site is altered, and we do not read anything that is not already served to the public.
We keep the address, the email address, the measurements and the findings so that the result can be re-sent if it goes astray, and so we can see whether the check is useful at all. Retention: [TO CONFIRM: retention period for free-check records, suggested 12 months].
Only submit an address you are entitled to have measured. The results go to the email address entered on the form, so please do not enter somebody else’s. Checks are limited to three per connection per day.

One email, then nothing. The free check sends exactly one message with your results. It does not begin a sequence and it does not add you to a mailing list.
Using the wizard does not put you on a mailing list. If we ever run one, joining it will be a separate, deliberate action by you.
When you write to hello@renewsite.com, or we write to you, the message sits in our mailbox at [TO CONFIRM: email provider and where it stores mail]. Email is not a secure channel. Do not send passwords or card details by email — if we need access to your site, we will tell you how to share it safely.
Clients
If you buy a diagnosis or a rescue, we hold what we need to do the work and keep proper records: your name, business name, billing details, invoices, the access credentials you give us, and our correspondence.
Legal basis. Performing our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)) and complying with tax and accounting law (Article 6(1)(c)).
Payments
Payments are taken by Stripe. Stripe is the payment processor; Strongweb LLC is the merchant of record.
Card details never reach this server. You enter them into Stripe’s own payment form and Stripe handles them. We never see or store your full card number.
Stripe sends back only what we need to run the business: whether a payment succeeded, the amount, and limited details such as the card brand and last four digits. Stripe acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We do not use PayPal.
Analytics and tracking
There is currently no analytics or tracking installed on renewsite.com. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no third-party tracking cookies.
If we add an analytics tool later, we will name it here, say what it stores and for how long, and add a consent banner if one is required.
We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data.
Hosting and server logs
renewsite.com is hosted by [TO CONFIRM: hosting provider and location]. Like every web server, it keeps short technical logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser type — to keep the site running and defend against abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (Article 6(1)(f)).
Who else sees your data
We use a small number of providers, and only for the purposes above:
- Stripe — payments

We may also disclose data if the law requires it. We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

How long we keep things

Your rights
If you are in the EU or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to:
- ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted
- ask us to restrict how we use it
- object to processing we base on legitimate interest
- receive your data in a portable format
- withdraw consent, where we relied on consent
- complain to your national data protection authority
We aim to answer within a few working days, and in any case within one month. There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason.
How to ask us to delete your data
Email hello@renewsite.com with the subject line “Delete my data”. Tell us the email address or website address you used so we can find the record. We will delete what we are allowed to delete and confirm when it is done. Where tax law forces us to keep invoices and payment records, we will tell you exactly what we kept and why.
Children
This is a business service. It is not aimed at anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change is significant and affects existing clients, we email them.
