Terms

What we do, what we do not do, and what each of us is responsible for.

Draft — not ready to publish

This page is an internal draft dated 28 July 2026. It has not been written or checked by a qualified lawyer, and it may be missing terms that the applicable law requires. Do not publish it, do not link to it from a checkout, and do not send it to a client until a lawyer has reviewed and approved it.

Remove this entire notice before launch, together with every [TO CONFIRM: …] marker on the page. Two open questions for the lawyer: whether any client could count as a consumer (which may override the non-refundable diagnosis fee), and whether the liability cap in clause 13 holds under the governing law.

Terms of Service

These terms cover the Website Rescue service at renewsite.com, provided by Strongweb LLC, company number [TO CONFIRM: company number], registered at [TO CONFIRM: registered address].

Effective date: [TO CONFIRM: effective date]

“We” and “us” mean Strongweb LLC. “You” means the person or business buying the service.

1. What the service is

We rebuild slow, dated WordPress websites as clean, fast systems.

Most sites we work on were built three to eight years ago with a page builder such as Elementor or Divi. They get slow, and the usual fixes — caching and optimisation plugins — cover the symptom without changing the cause. We replace the system underneath instead. Your content, your URLs and your rankings are carried over.

2. The steps and the prices

Diagnosis — EUR 190

We examine your site and write up what is wrong, what we would change, and what it would cost. You get the diagnosis whether or not you go ahead. If you do go ahead, the full EUR 190 is credited against the rebuild — you never pay for it twice.

Delivered in 2 to 3 days

Rescue Core — EUR 1,200

Up to 15 pages.

Typically 10 to 14 days

Rescue Plus — EUR 2,200

16 to 40 pages, including blog archives and simple catalogues.

Typically 3 to 4 weeks

Timelines start when we have working access to your site and the content we need, and they assume you reply to questions within a few working days. See clause 5.

3. What you get, and what you do not

Anything in the right-hand column can be added, but only if it is written into your quote.

Included

  • Rebuilding your existing pages on a clean, fast system, without the page builder
  • Carrying your existing content across
  • Keeping your existing URLs, or redirecting properly where one has to change
  • Standard on-page technical setup so search engines can read the new site
  • Mobile and desktop layouts
  • One round of changes
  • Going live, plus support in the days around go-live

Not included

  • New content, copywriting, photography or logo design
  • Pages beyond the count you bought
  • Shops, checkouts, payment flows, memberships, courses, logged-in areas
  • Multilingual setups
  • Migrating from anything other than WordPress
  • Maintenance after handover — that is the care plan, clause 10
  • Licences, plugin subscriptions, hosting and domain fees, which stay in your name
  • Anything that changes what your site does, rather than how it is built

One round of changes

When the rebuild is ready we show it to you, and you send your changes — all of them, in one list. We make them. That is the round included in the price.

A round of changes means adjusting what we built: wording, image swaps, spacing, colours within the agreed design, and fixing anything we got wrong. It does not mean redesigning pages, adding pages, or changing direction after you approved it. That is new work, and we quote for it before starting.

If changes arrive in several batches over several weeks, we treat the first batch as your round and quote for the rest. An unbounded revision loop is the most common reason fixed-price projects fail, so we say this at the start rather than at the end.

4. Who we can take on

We can rescue your site if it runs WordPress, has roughly 10 to 40 pages, was built with a page builder, and you can give us access.

We cannot take on shops with more than 50 products or a custom checkout, membership sites, course platforms, anything with logged-in users, large multilingual sites, anything not built on WordPress, or a site where nobody can provide access or a backup.

If your site falls outside that, we say so and either decline or quote separately for custom work. We would rather turn work down than take on something we cannot finish well. We take a small number of projects each month, and one named person does the work.

5. What you need to do

  • Give us access. Admin access to WordPress, plus hosting or FTP. Send credentials the way we tell you to, not by plain email.
  • Have a backup, or let us make one. We always take our own before starting, but keep an independent copy. We are not a backup service.
  • Give us the content. New or corrected text comes from you unless the quote says otherwise.
  • Reply within a few working days to questions and approvals. The timelines in clause 2 assume this.
  • Tell us about anything unusual. Custom code, an agency that still has access, a licence in someone else’s name, a pending migration.

If access, content or answers are late, the timeline moves. The price does not.

6. The speed guarantee

What we promise. After go-live, your main page will reach a mobile PageSpeed Insights lab score of 85 or higher, measured three times in a row within 7 days of go-live.

Lab score is not field data

  • The lab score is a test. PageSpeed Insights loads your page on a simulated slow phone and scores that single run. We guarantee it because it measures the thing we control: how the site is built.
  • The field data — Core Web Vitals — comes from real visitors on real phones over 28 days. It depends on where your visitors are, what devices and connections they have, and what happens to the site after handover.

A well-built site usually improves both, but nobody can guarantee field data. We guarantee the lab score.

What is excluded

Third-party scripts added after handover. A chat widget, booking tool, tracking pixel, ad network or heavy embed added after go-live affects the score and sits outside the guarantee. Before handover we tell you which scripts are already on the site and what each costs you in speed.

If we miss it

We keep working, at no extra charge, until we reach it.

This is not a money-back guarantee. There is no refund attached to it, and it cannot be converted into one. The remedy is our continued work: taking your money back does not give you a fast website, and finishing the job does.

7. Payment

  • 50% up front, before work starts.
  • 50% before go-live — the new site goes live once the final payment has cleared.
  • Payment is by card, through Stripe. Strongweb LLC is the merchant of record. We do not accept PayPal.
  • Prices are in euros. Bank and currency-conversion charges on your side are yours.
  • Late payment: [TO CONFIRM: whether interest or a late fee applies, and at what rate]
  • Tax: [TO CONFIRM: whether VAT or sales tax applies, and to whom]

The EUR 190 diagnosis fee is paid in full up front and credited in full against the rebuild if you proceed. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

8. If you go quiet

Projects stall, usually because life gets in the way. That is fine, but a half-finished rebuild cannot sit open forever, so:

  • After 14 days without hearing from you, we pause the project and email you.
  • If we still hear nothing 30 days after that pause, the project becomes dormant. Your work is kept safe and nothing is deleted.
  • To restart, email us. We restart if we have capacity, otherwise we give you the next available start date. A restart more than 90 days after the pause may be quoted at the current price, and we will tell you before doing further work.
  • The 50% you already paid stays applied to your project. Going quiet does not forfeit it.
  • We keep a dormant project’s files for 6 months. After that we may delete them, and we email you first.

The same applies in reverse: if we go quiet for more than 14 days without explanation, you can cancel under clause 12 and the Refund Policy applies.

9. Ownership

You own your site

Once the final payment has cleared, you own your content, the pages we build for you, and the configuration of your site. Your domain and hosting account stay in your name throughout.

The system underneath is licensed to you

The theme, design system and code framework we build on stays ours, because we reuse it across projects — that is why we can rebuild a site for a fixed price in two weeks instead of quoting three months of bespoke development.

You get a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on that one website, for as long as you like. Nothing further to pay, and the licence does not end if you cancel the care plan or stop working with us.

The licence does not let you resell it, redistribute it, use it on another website, or hand it to an agency as a starting point for other clients. Your own developer can of course maintain and modify your site.

Third-party components

WordPress itself, plugins, fonts and stock images come with their own licences and remain subject to them. Any licence that has to be bought is bought in your name.

Our portfolio

We would like to show your site as an example of our work, with your name. We ask first, and you can say no without it affecting anything. [TO CONFIRM: whether this permission must be opt-in in writing]

10. The care plan

The care plan is optional and separate. Declining it does not affect your rebuild or your licence. It costs EUR 99 per month.

Covered

  • WordPress core, theme and plugin updates
  • A weekly backup
  • Uptime monitoring
  • Up to 1 hour of small changes per month — text edits, image swaps, small fixes. The hour does not roll over.
  • A reply from us within 2 working days

Not covered

  • New pages
  • Redesigns
  • Shop, checkout or payment work
  • Out-of-hours emergencies
  • Anything beyond the monthly hour — quoted separately

Those limits are written down on purpose. A care plan with vague limits ends as an argument. Cancellation terms are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

11. What we do not promise

  • Rankings or traffic. We preserve your URLs and rebuild the site so search engines can read it properly, which protects what you have. What Google does afterwards depends on your competitors, your content and algorithm changes nobody controls.
  • Revenue, leads or conversions.
  • Field or Core Web Vitals results. See clause 6.
  • That your site will never break. Plugins conflict, hosts have outages, WordPress ships updates. We help, but we cannot prevent all of it.

We have no published case studies yet. If we ever quote a result, it will be a real one from a named client who agreed to it.

12. Stopping the project

You can stop at any time. Email us. We stop work, invoice for the work already done on a pro-rata basis, and hand over what exists. Details are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

We can stop too, if you do not pay when due, if we cannot get the access or content we need after asking twice, if the project turns out to sit outside clause 4 and neither of us wants to re-scope it, or if the working relationship becomes abusive.

If we stop, we say why in writing, invoice only for work actually done, and hand over what exists. If we stop for a reason that is our fault, the Refund Policy applies. Either way we do not hold your site hostage: whatever has been built and paid for is yours, and we hand over the files.

13. Limitation of liability

  • Our total liability for anything connected to your project is capped at the amount you paid us for that project.
  • For the care plan, liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
  • We are not liable for lost profit, revenue, data, rankings, or business interruption.
  • We are not liable for things outside our control: your hosting, third-party plugins, scripts you added, changes made by you or another developer after handover, or search-engine algorithm changes.
  • Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

[TO CONFIRM: lawyer to test this clause against the governing law — liability caps are not enforceable everywhere and are read narrowly in some places]

14. General

  • These terms plus your written quote are the whole agreement. If the quote says something different, the quote wins.
  • If one clause is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
  • We may update these terms for new clients. Your project is governed by the terms in force when you bought it.
  • Governing law: [TO CONFIRM: governing law]. Disputes: [TO CONFIRM: courts or arbitration body].
